At the age of nine, I decided to give my mother a surprise party, and not having a job, I was low on funds. I asked one of my aunts to make a large batch of spaghetti, and other relatives to bring a salad, garlic bread, and I think some chipped in for a cake. Our church pastor was gracious to let me host the event in the fellowship hall, and I discreetly invited the attendees.
I didn’t know my mother had never had a birthday party, as she was one of nine children who lost their mom (my grandmother) at a young age, so when she opened the door to the fellowship hall that day, her expression and tears of joy were beyond priceless! From then on, every few years, I endeavored to make her birthdays increasingly special, finding new ways to surprise her. Whether an intimate dinner for two with a close friend, or a surprise birthday potluck aboard a yacht, the parties got bigger and better!
Over the years, I begin to put together events and plan surprise parties for others as well. From birthdays and social gatherings to baby showers and weddings, I have a passion for creating jaw dropping experiences, and artistically creating memorable events. I have absolutely loved planning events that make my mother’s heart, and others, smile, and I look forward to doing the same for you!
